I have decided to start a list of all the numbers that I have received that have called me and are known to be solicitors. My policy is to never pick up a number that I don’t know. Hopefully this list will help others out there. Feel free to comment if you have any more numbers to add.
12/12/08 - 09:35am - 402-572-7581
Comcast
Notes: This number kept calling me, I thought it was a telemarketer but it turns out that it was Comcast calling telling me that my service has been restored. This number has called me multiple times so you can probably tell how many times I’ve been out of service with these guys. Sheesh. Also, they never informed me that I was going to be recieving a call once service has been restored. Just a heads up for anyone getting this number.
06/03/08 - 10:40am - 206-973-1773
Seattle Symphony
200 University Street
Seattle, WA 98101
Notes: Good ol’ subscription selling, but this time it’s for season tickets to the symphony.
03/01/07 - 01:30pm - 307-764-8771
Powell, WY
Notes: It’s been a while since I last updated this list but from my research it looks like the number is used for vacation/time share scams. Another person also says that the number was used for a Washington Mutual survey.
11/21/06 - 10:55am - 206-652-6300
Seattle Times
1120 John Street
Seattle, WA 98109
Notes: They called me a few days following my subscription cancellation. I’m sure they’re calling because they’d like me to resubscribe, but if these calls persist (as I hear they do this), I don’t think I’ll ever subscribe again.
08/28/06 - 9:32 AM - 402-572-7581
EDIT - Turns out that this number is actually used by many companies as automated customer service. I figured this out when I realized that I told Comcast to call me when my internet outage was fixed. Share of your experiences with this number below.

Notes: Didn’t leave a message, this number is a WA number and is known to be associated with USPACS, a company selling bogus sex offender location information.
Are you a victim? Make sure you put all your numbers in the National Do Not Call Registry if they do try to call you again after 90-days then you have a right to sue them.
Update: I should add, if your number is on the National Do Not Call Registry for at least 31 days and telemarketers call you, you can file a complaint. I filed a complaint for every single Omaha Steaks call, and they finally stopped calling. That, or they are tired of dialing my number.
Thanks Tim,I have been fighting illegal telemarketers for months now and I never could identify that number. How did you find the company? My main problem is from telemarketers using a 206 area code. A Seattle phone company, Marathon Communications (800 919 1000), provides phone numbers and acts as a buffer for the telemarketers. They use a fake name on caller ID (TMC,card services,Sat.inc etc) and a fake number you can’t call back (206 415 8940,206 415 8880, 206 415 8547 etc). When you call Marathon they won’t give you the identity of the business that called you unless you subpoena them, which is what my Attorney General did. One company was Guardian Communications (309 277 1222) 3322 38th.ave Moline IL.61265. They called people on the DNC list, used illegal recorded messages, and called cell phones. They sold the numbers they got to DirecTV and Dish Network. North Carolina sued them for this weeks ago. Calls from illegal telemarketers are a huge problem. Visit anti206.blogspot.com for more info. or to join the antitelemarketer fight.
This is great! I googled a phone number that kept showing up on my cell phone caller ID, got your site and found them on your telemarketer list.
Like the commenter above, I googled a number and your blog came up. Many thanks for the info. I love me some Omaha steaks, but geez they are annoying with the incessant calls.
Omaha Steaks is unbelievable - it’s like I bought them things few times over the web, now they call me like I am its savior. I googled the number and was led to this awesome blog btw. The yellow fever video is awesome!
I am also being called by the now infamous Omaha Steaks number. I did place an order with them about 2 months ago and I was wondering if anyone else who is commenting, or even Tim, has also purchased from them. In other words, is this some random calling or are they only calling looking for repeat business.
I believe the calls started flowing in a few weeks after I purchased from them. Don’t quote me on this, but they are definetly calling back for repeat business. They aren’t going to get it with this method I can tell you that!
Thank YOU Tim! I too, googled a number. I am on the NY Do NOt Call list and Product Development
303-280-8689 keeps calling me at 8:30 am ! I found the link to the
Do NOt Call Registry Complaint form and filled it out. Hope it works. Better, yet, would rather just sue them!
Ordered some steaks for my dad’s bday and started getting the calls at least 2 or 3 every day.
Filed a complaint and hope they stop.
I’ve never actually answered the call, anyone know if a live person is on the line? I’d love to mess with them it there is.
oh my god, i just did the same thing and i found your blog. Omaha Steaks will not stop calling me. I’ve been on the do not call list for well over a year now…should i be filing a complaint?
Thanks for having the Product Development number up here so a search found it. First time I’ve gotten this one. I don’t answer unknowns either; it saves a lot of wasted time. My policy is: don’t get mad, get even. I was thinking about a Cesna with 10 gallons of cyanide… ;o))
If you ordered Omaha Steaks, they are well within their rights to contact you (even if your number is on the do-not-call list) because you have established a business relationship with them.. I ordered steaks a month ago, and just got my first call. The next time they call, I will politely tell them to stop… If they continue calling after that, then I may have to file some sort of complaint.
Hi, I was just browsing around looking for Omaha Steaks reviews and I found your blog here, and since I work at Omaha Steaks, I thought I’d comment on the calls you all are getting. I work in the call center, where all of these dreaded calls are coming from
. I just thought I’d answer a few questions the people who’ve posted on here have.
First, I must insist, the best thing you can possibly do is to pick up your phone when you see that number. I’ll say it again: PICK UP THE PHONE! There will be a live person on the other end, someone like myself, we’ll identify where we’re from and ask how you’re doing. At this point, if you’d like the calls to stop, simply ask the person on the other end to remove you from the call list, and it will be done for you with no resistance. We call on one month increments (if you’re on our call list), but if you don’t pick up your phone, it will be dispositioned as an answering machine, and the computer automated system will try you back in about 5 hours…and yes, this will keep up if you don’t ever pick up.
Trust me, Omaha Steaks has some of the best customer service and friendliest telemarketers you’ll ever meet or talk to. If you do decide to actually talk to someone in the future, they’ll frequently do everything they can to get you the lowest price the computer will allow, and will give you extra discounts without you even asking. And if I could add, the people in the call center don’t like the fact that we call people seemingly incessantly either…it’s something I would like to change, but can’t.
So anyway, the next time you see that number on your phone, pick it up and tell the person to take you off the list, and it’ll be done for you, and all the calls will stop. You’re not fighting the system if you never pick up, that just makes it worse.
Hopefully this has been helpful.
Someone keeps calling my cell phone from 978-212-7848 but when you call the # back, the # doesn’t work. I just registered my # on the do not call list! Thanks!
I’ve been getting hang-up calls for months now; I screen calls during the day when I’m busy with my daughters.
I finally hit *69 to get the number, then Googled it…and it is: Omaha Steaks!
Thanks Tim!
Thanks for the info! I goggled the number & up came your blog! Way to go!
I started getting calls, which I didn’t answer, from this number and it was annoying. I found your site via google-ing the phone number. Once I knew it was Omaha Steaks, I just went to their site, clicked on Customer Service and asked them to remove me from their list. Within a couple of hours I got a reply e-mail and the calls stopped. So while their calls are frequent and pesky, there is no need to file a complaint…simply ask them to stop calling and they will.
Thanks for your site Tim. I actually thought my husband was getting calls from a certain $%#@* who lives in that area. I was ready to end it all.
Thanks, Steve
I found 303-280-8689 Nuisance telemarketing here.
Hello Steve,
I just recently started getting calls from Product Development. Have you had any business with Davison and Ass. ? Seems it just started since I began a camplaint against Davison. Coincidence?
Susan
A comment in response to the employee of Omaha Steaks: Let me get this straight… if I NEVER answer the call, Omaha Steaks will just waste their time calling back and calling back and calling back, time after time after time? Gee, sounds like a great use of company resources to me. Personally, I’m offended that they do this AT ALL. I don’t get hounded to death by The Sharper Image, Radio Shack, Blockbuster or any of the other companies that have asked for my phone number.
I am going to file a complaint thru the Omaha Steaks web site to their customer service department and, SOLELY DUE TO THE INCESSANT CALLING, I will NEVER do business with the Omaha Steak Company ever again!
I just started receiving calls from Omaha Steaks. I placed an order with them about a month ago. I’ve very pleased with their food and will certainly order again. Their phone calls are quite annoying (2 per day) so I called their customer service dept. today and requested they take me off their call list. They asked for my phone number, verified my name, and said I was permanently removed from their call list. I asked them if I’d be added to their list again after making future orders and they said no. My contact information will remain in their database, but I will not receive calls. We’ll see how this all works out. I will post my outcome in a few weeks.
It’s been a little over two weeks since I last posted in regards to Omaha Steak’s and their sales calls. I’m happy to say that I’ve not received another call from them. It did take a day or two after I called them for all the calls to stop, but I’ve not received one since.
303-280-8689 - Received several hang up calls from this number. I finally got a recorded message asking if I had received the new AT&T Yellow Pages that should have been delivered in our area.
The Seattle Times just started calling me again, and I just cancelled my subscription. I’m definitely not going to re-subscribe at this point. I thought that was the number they’d called me from before, and this list of yours confirmed that for me. Thanks.
Thank you for this post. I was called by the Seattle Times number today, and I missed the call and no one left a message.
Since I have been applying for jobs recently, I was really worried it was a possible employer and that perhaps they had been off-put by my phone message.
So I googled the number and found your list. Thank you very much! That clears up a lot of (silly) worrying on my part.
I just got a call from 307-764-8771 on my cell phone, didn’t answer and it left me a recorded message about timeshare, or a free vacation or something, it was a kinda bad connection and it was fuzzy.
I’ve also gotten some calls in the past, and it’s some recording in spanish that I can’t understand, I saved the number in my phone last time it happened, and it is 478-932-9876. I can’t find that number online. I’m waiting for them to call again in a few months to see if it’s always the same numbr.
I can confirm the first entry of the Wyoming number. I got a call this evening, and it was indeed a travel package scam.
It’s awfully annoying. I with they did have my cell phone number. Gah.
To the person defending Omaha Steaks customer service: you need to understand that when customers give you their phone number with an order, the expectation is that you will only call it for issues related to the order. Calling the number months later to try to sell us more products is an abuse of our business relationship. All the comments left on this site should be testimony enough that you are pissing of your customers. How do you guys stay in business while continually driving your customers away?
Thanks so much for posting this info, i wish more people would contribute and help eliminate the phone-spammers. I recommend that when someone does receive this type of call make a complaint at the Do Not Call Registry - https://www.donotcall.gov/Complain/ComplainCheck.aspx
and lets enforce our rights to privacy!
thanks again
Thanks, Tim, for putting this list together. Everyone should report the numbers they see on this list that also called them.
Another threat is phone companies calling from fake caller ID numbers. There has to be a law about that.
More about these scum spammers and unethical companies like Sprint at my blog at http://imran.com/media/blog/

Thanks for posting this list, I am harassed by the Seattle Times (206-652-6300) almost every day, I don’t answer the phone when they call and they’ve still been calling for months. I’ve never had a subscriptions with the Seattle Times, I’ve told them I’m not interested and I don’t read my news in a paper, actually I don’t even live in Seattle. Damn they are persistent.
amazing… i just got a call on both my wife’s cell phone as well as my cell phone from 206-652-6300. they started ringing simultaneously. when i picked up the phone, they hung up on me.
I’m also an Omaha Steaks Telemarketer (not the same one as above). Listen - The best thing you can do is answer the phone. We’re taught from day one in training that if you don’t answer, we hit Shift + F12 and that says answering machine, call back in 3-5 hours. So ignoring us only gets you more calls. Answer the phone, and just politely ask to be removed from the calling list. There are some common misconceptions people seem to have about this -
1. You have to be extremely firm, rude, or agitated when you ask to be removed from the list. - The majority of people in our calling center are either college kids trying to pay tuition or single parents working a second job. We didn’t control that we would call you (a computer randomly picked you as our next call). Wouldn’t you be much more receptive and polite (removing someone from the calling list) if the person asking is polite?
2. That we will get agitated when you ask and be rude about getting you off the list. - I could care less if I’m calling you or not, so I have no problem putting you on the do not call list.
3. For some reason no one reads what the National “Do Not Call List” is. We cannot call you unless you’ve done business with us in the last 18 months. If we’re calling you, odds are you’ve done some kind of business with us.
By the way, we’re required to keep on selling to you until you’ve said “No” a number of times (unless you immediately ask to be taken off the list, then we don’t continue to sell). So saying “let me save you some time, i’m not interested” doesn’t really save anyone any time. I get fired if I don’t continue to sell to you.
Finally - pick up the phone. We’re just going to keep on calling every 3-5 hours until you do (it’s way beyond my control - I have no idea how many times you’ve ignored this number on your caller ID).
Oh - by the way. A lot of you are curious why we call in the first place. So many of our customers are thrilled to hear from us because they know they will get the best deal when they speak with a person (I can get you internet specials, mailing specials, phone specials, and store specials all in one place). On average, I sell something to one in every 10 people I talk to. So a lot of people are very happy when I say I am from Omaha Steaks.
And believe me, we don’t like doing second efforts any more than you like hearing them. But we get in trouble if we don’t continue to sell even if you’ve said no (and we do get a lot of orders after someone has said no)
I appreciate the intent of your blog page here. However, you have posted that Product Development Corporation is part of a group “known to be solicitors.” This is not correct. Product Development Corporation (PDC) is a national distributor of telephone directories. PDC utilizes phone calls to confirm delivery of telephone directories. The Federal Do-Not-Call legislation does not appy to organizations that are not soliciting (selling or marketing something).
PDC uses delivery verification through phone calls because of the cost and quality of this quality control method. This type of quality control process is done by all the major companies in the distribution of telephone directories. Having said this, PDC is aware and respects that there are individuals that would not like to be part of this type of survey. As a result, PDC has created its own internal Do-No-Call list. If you or anyone else would like to have their phone number removed from our calling lists, please email the phone number you wish to be removed to DoNotCall@teampdc.com.
I would like to reiterate that delivery verification calling is a quality control standard in our industry and that each company that does this type of quality control is responsible for their own list. As such, even though PDC will no longer contact all numbers that are requested to be on our DoNoCall list, you may be contacted by others that do not have this capability.
Product Development Corporation
Thanks for the info Tim. Omaha Steaks has been plaguing me lately, so I put myself on the National Do Not CAll. Good advice.
